I met Jennifer while networking on Linked-In at the end of April in 2023. I had just started a new job, in a completely different industry than I had been in for the previous 20 years. I lost both my parents to cancer and went through a traumatic divorce, all within a 5 month period of time in 2022. I was in therapy weekly. I felt numb and disconnected from my life. I thought a new job would make me feel better! Give me the challenge I needed to kickstart my life again. It did. For awhile. I loved meeting new people, helping them, putting myself back out into the world where I wasn’t being triggered. Part of my new role was to connect with other professionals, share contacts…network! Jennifer and I met via Google Meet in May for an introduction call to see how we could help each in our respective career paths. By the end of our brief 30 minute call we had both shared our lives most traumatic experiences and couldn’t believe what had just happened. As we each dried our tears and put our game faces on for our next calls, we hurriedly put another call on the calendar. We made a connection! One that isn’t easy to do in person, for me anyway, much less over a video call. I knew as soon as I hung up that my reason for connecting with her wasn’t business. It was personal. I needed her as a coach! 45 days after that first call I signed on as her first, in person, coaching client and we hit the ground running meeting ~ every other week. I was in a season of transition in my life and very aware of how much I haven’t been focusing on myself. After each session she would send me a recap: things she noticed, goals we set and “homework”. About 2 months after signing on, I got let go from my job without any justifiable reason and on the anniversary of my Dads passing. One of my homework assignments was to complete the WHY discovery. I was surprised at how spot on it was…my WHY is Make Sense! In light of recent events, the career section was something revisited in the next session and by October we were putting down goals for me to take my vision of honoring my parents with a new company called Daisy RAY and make it a reality. I officially launched in December and while I continue to make changes, it has become something that even both my kids participate in. I couldn’t have done this without Jennifer’s guidance. Her expertise. Her patience. Her understanding and the greatest gift of this experience is her friendship!
